Adityanath’s reaction came amid claims by opposition parties, including the Congress, that the BJP’s ‘400-paar’ slogan is aimed at amending the Constitution and ending reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes.

There can be no bigger lie than these claims of the opposition. Everyone knows the history of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the parties associated with the INDIA bloc, CM Adityanath Yogi told reporters in Gorakhpur.

“The history of the Congress has been to curtail the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Constitution came into force in 1950 and the Congress has worked continuously to trample on freedom of expression. Even then there were constant efforts to use the Constitution in its (Congress’s) own way,” he claimed.

The Uttar Pradesh CM Adityanath also described the Congress as anti-people and said it never tried to respect public opinion.

Recalling the suspension of constitutional provisions to declare Emergency in 1975 by the Indira Gandhi-led government, Adityanath said, “Even today the people of the country have not forgotten the Emergency. It was also like strangulation of the Constitution.”

“People of the country also remember the sins committed by the Congress during the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government. The Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party were allies of the Congress in the UPA,” he added.

He declared that the people of the country would not accept the agenda of the Congress, Samajwadi Party and the INDIA bloc to grant reservation to a “particular religious group” and said such a move would jeopardize the constitutional framework and hit quotas meant for backward classes. and scheduled castes.

“The BJP is strongly opposed to any form of reservation based on religion as the common people have suffered the brunt of division on the basis of religion. The BJP strongly supports the benefits of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes,” he said.

CM Adityanath Yogi also claimed that the Congress leadership has turned out to be a “complete failure”.

“Even members of Congress lack confidence in their leadership. This is evident as Congress candidates withdraw from electoral contests in certain regions, heads of state departments resign, and in some places declared candidates withdraw their candidacy and accept membership in Congress.” BJP,” he said.

“As a result, the remaining Congress leaders are resorting to baseless and fabricated allegations in their frustration,” the CM Adityanath Yogi added.
