According to a press release, the 1.08-minute long clip features a ‘jaathara’ sequence from the upcoming film. ‘Jaathara’, also known as ‘Sammakka Saralamma Jaathara’, is a festival celebrated in the state of Telangana in honor of Hindu tribal goddesses.

Full of color and tradition, the teaser sees Arjuna’s Pushpa Raj decked out in a saree, jewelery and make-up as she wields a trident and thrashes opponents to music composer DSP’s rousing soundtrack amid a ‘jaathara’ celebration.

The first look at the sequel may have introduced the protagonist in a different avatar, but his swag remains the same.

“Pushpa 1: The Rise” depicted the rise of a low-income worker (Arjuna) in a smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state.

It was released in India in association with Muttamsetty Media on 17 December 2021 and became one of the biggest money spinners of the year earning over Rs 350 crore.

The film also established Arjun as an all-India star and earned him his first National Actor Award in stakes. The DSP composer also won his first National Award for ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.
