Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday made serious allegations against the Congress, saying the grand old party in its election manifesto had expressed its intention to introduce “Sharia law” in the country and redistribute people’s property.

Addressing an election rally in Amroha, Adityanath said, “Congress and its allies have betrayed the country and have come to you again with their fake manifesto. If you look at the Congress manifesto, they say that if they form the government, we will introduce Sharia law.”

“Tell me, will this country be governed by the constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar or Sharia?” he asked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his election rallies that the Congress has included redistribution of people’s wealth in its manifesto.

“Congress people in their manifesto talk about introducing ‘vyaktigata kanoon’ (personal laws). This means Sharia law will be implemented as Modi has stopped the practice of triple talaq,” Adityanath said.

“They say we will restore personal law again. These people will introduce Sharia law…,” he added.

Escalating his attack, Adityanath claimed, “The Congress manifesto says they will take people’s property and give it away. Do you want to allow the Congress and the Samajwadi Party to loot your property?”

“Look at the condition of these shameless people. On the one hand they are looking at your property and on the other hand they are making the mafia and criminals their necklace and reciting the Fatiha on their behalf,” he added.

Referring to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s comment in 2006, Adityanath said, “When Dr. Manmohan Singh ji as Prime Minister, said that Muslims have the first right to the resources of the country…”

“So where will our Dalits, backward classes, Kharagvanshis, friends, poor and farmers go? Where will the mothers and sisters go, where will the youth go?” he asked.

The chief minister claimed that terrorism was ended in India during the tenure of the Modi government.

“10 years ago there was an atmosphere of fear and terror in the country, people were afraid. After 2014 terrorism was controlled and till 2019 Modi made it such a thing that the root of terrorism was repealed Article 370 of Jammu Kashmir. Today terrorism has been destroyed in India ,” he said.

Adityanath claimed that now whenever there is a loud explosion of firecrackers anywhere, Pakistan makes it clear that it has no involvement.

“Pakistan fears that even by mistake a terrorist incident takes place in India and some innocent citizen is killed, they will have to bear the consequences,” he said.

Amroha will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.
